Who We Are

Tattvaloka is a unit of the Sringeri Sarada Peetham with the Jagadguru Sri Sankaracharya of Sringeri as the Patron-in-Chief. Sringeri is one of the four pillars of Sanatana Dharma set up by Adi Sankaracharya in the 9th century. Our principal objective is to spread the traditions and values enshrined in our scriptures and as taught by our spiritual masters.

We are based in the heart of Mylapore, Chennai, India. Our aesthetically designed office complex comprises a publishing section, spacious research facilities, a well-equipped library, a modern IT and communication support, a 300-seat air-conditioned auditorium, a meditation hall, and a pantry. In addition, within the complex area, we provide extended in-house stay and research facilities for visiting scholars from abroad.

Nestled in a picturesque spot in the plateau of Western Ghats, surrounded by charming hills and reflected in the crystal water of the Tunga river, and hallowed by sage Rishyashringa, who performed tapas here, is the Sringeri Samsthan associated with the great Sankaracharya. It is the parent organization of Tattvaloka.

Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpada established the first of the four Amnaya Peethams, the throne of Vedas, at Sringeri over twelve centuries ago to foster the sacred tradition of Sanatana Dharma.

The Sringeri Peetham is blessed with an unbroken Guru Parampara, ever since the great Acharya appointed his prime disciple, Sri Sureshwaracharya, as the first Acharya of the Peetham.

The presiding pontiff and the 36th in the line of succession, Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, is a sage beyond compare. Born in 1951 into a family of Vedic scholars, he renounced the world in 1974 and embraced sanyas.
